The National Weather Service is forecasting that a line of severe thunderstorms will be passing through our area starting this afternoon (Monday, August 7th). Part of this forecast includes damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 to 70 miles per hour. These conditions could affect the safe operation of school buses as the South Carolina Department of Education does not allow buses to operate when wind gusts are greater than 40 miles per hour. Today was the start of a beautiful new school year in #lex3! It was a joy to officially welcome students and staff back into our buildings. We also had some very special media guests at our schools today to help us celebrate new beginnings. A special thanks to WIS-TV for doing liveshots this morning from B-L Elementary School. We also appreciate WLTX News 19, WACH FOX 57, and The Twin City Newspaper for coming out and covering our first day of school. It's going to be a great year! There have been SO MANY SMILES in our schools today as students, parents and teachers reunited for our annual Meet the Teacher Day! Our online student registration portal will be closing soon for the 2023-2024 school year. If anyone needs assistance getting their child/children registered for school, Lexington Three is hosting an in-person registration day on Wednesday, July 19th at the Lifelong Learning Center (located at 101 West Columbia Avenue). Computers and staff members (including a Spanish translator) will be available from 8 am until 1 pm to assist families. No appointment is necessary. Meals are available for children between the ages of 1 and 18 years old. Parents can pick up meals without students in the vehicle. However, PLEASE have your identification and your child’s name(s) available. Meals can be picked up at the rear of BLMS. The address for BLMS is 425 Shealy Road.

As our Panther families settle into summer break, we hope you'll take a few minutes to reflect back on the 2022-2023 school year. It was a wonderful year and we are so proud of all of the many tremendous things that took place.

It is Staff Appreciation Week in Lexington County School District Three! This special week (May 8th through 12th) is set aside each year to recognize every member of the Panther Family and to show our thanks for all of the work they do day in and day out to help our students learn and grow! If you'd like to send a note of thanks to a Lexington Three staff member who made a difference in your life, send an email to happymail@lex3.org! (Be sure to include the name of the individual who is being recognized in the body of the email as well as provide a brief explanation about how the individual made an impact on you.) The messages will be forwarded along to the appropriate person and could even be featured on one of our social media pages!
In 2022, the South Carolina General Assembly unanimously passed S.1103, otherwise known as the South Carolina Child ID law. As a result, Lexington County School District Three has been given at-home child ID kits that are available for each student. To obtain a kit for your student(s), please contact your child's school. Our schools will work with parents to arrange a pick up time. ID kits may also be sent home with students from school when requested.
These are inkless, at-home kits that are stored by parents and guardians that never enter a database. This kit should take less than two minutes to complete and is designed to be stored solely by you as a parent or guardian in a cool, dry, and safe place at home. Please understand there is no obligation to request or use the kit. However, it will allow you to have your child’s vital information, fingerprints, and DNA in a safe place should you ever need it. These kits are to be STORED AT HOME and should only be given to law enforcement in case of an emergency.
Monday, January 30th marks the 100th day of school in Lexington County School District Three! What a wonderful school year we have had thus far!
Panther Families - Don't forget that our schools and District Office are CLOSED on Monday, January 16th in recognition of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. We will re-open for our regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, January 17th.
Panther Parents/Guardians - Lexington Three is staying apprised of the storm situation in our area and wants to assure you that our students are safe inside of our buildings along with our staff members.
