On Thursday, February 7th, several hundred parents and students turned out to attend B-L Elementary School’s fourth annual Parent University, which was put on by the school’s faculty and staff.
Parents were able to rotate to three different informational sessions as part of the event. Staff members Parker Evans, Julie Ruff and Karen Wheeler presented information about “Growth Mindset” in the school cafeteria. The Book Fair was open for business so that attendees could purchase novels and other educational items, and students could show their family members what they do in their classrooms during Panther Time. Attendees left with a take-home plate from Shealy’s complete with either chicken tenders or a BBQ sandwich, coleslaw, banana pudding and tea.
The goal of the event is to provide information to parents about what their students are learning at B-L Elementary School on a daily basis.
